Volunteers from Marine Rescue NSW were among the first to greet visitors to this year’s Rosehill Trailer Boat Show.

The MRNSW display, including our Port Kembla rescue vessel, Port Kembla 20, was strategically positioned at the entry to the popular show, organised by the Boating Industry Association of NSW.

Members of the Botany Bay, Port Jackson, Hawkesbury and Cottage Point Marine Rescue units were available to provide safety advice based on their marine experience, along with information about MRNSW and the vital services we provide the boating community.

The MRNSW raffle featured prizes worth a total of $1285 generously donated by our partner, leading retailer BCF, who also provided a marquee for the two-day event.

The raffle raised more than $5000, which will be directed to the continuing roll-out of life-saving automatic defibrillators on board our fleet of rescue vessels. Mr Paul Jones, from Australian Defibrillators, gave demonstrations of this equipment at our stand.

First prize in the raffle, valued at $488, was a GME Accusat Pocket Pro+ GPS equipped Personal Locator Beacon EPIRB (rrp $389) plus an Ugly Stik road and reel combo (rrp $99).

Second prize, worth $399.80, was four adult Marlin inflatable lifejackets for safety on the water (rrp $99.95 each).

Third prize, coming in at a total of $218.95, was a Shimano Catana rod and reel combo (rrp $129) plus a Plano heavy duty tackle box (rrp $89.98).

Fourth prize was a Waeco Ice Box: tough, heavy duty, easy to clean (rrp $179).

BIA NSW Events Coordinator Belinda Close drew the raffle on Sunday afternoon. Congratulations to our lucky winners:

1st prize: Kylie Green, of Elderslie (ticket no 272)

2nd prize: Ian Stevens, of Dharruk (ticket no 541)

3rd prize: Terry Towers, of Ryde (ticket no 265)

4th prize: Wayne Russell, of Cranebrook (ticket no 198).
