  • CHANGED BOATING CONDITIONS ON STOCKTON BEACH AND NEWCASTLE HARBOUR
  • March 18, 2016

Boaters are reminded to keep clear of a section of Stockton beach and Newcastle Harbour this weekend for the safe staging of a stand-up paddle board event.

Roads and Maritime Services has granted an exclusive use aquatic licence to host the event on the harbour between 7am and 4pm on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 March.

An event area will be established from the southern corner of Stockton beach and an area across from Queens Wharf to Stockton Wharf and up to Nobby’s Lighthouse in Newcastle harbour.

The area will be marked by inflatable buoys and monitored by control vessels.

Vessels not involved in the event should not enter the marked area unless authorised by a boating safety officer or a police officer.

Roads and Maritime reminds people to wear a lifejacket when boating, especially in vessels smaller than 4.8 metres when alone, at night or offshore.
