  • CHANGED BOATING CONDITIONS ON GEORGES RIVER AT MILPERRA
  • January 05, 2016
Boaters are reminded to keep clear of a section of the Georges River at Milperra this weekend for the safe staging of speed boat races.

Roads and Maritime Services has granted an exclusive use aquatic licence to the Deepwater Motor Boat Club to host the event on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 January between 8am and 6pm.

An event area will be established on the Georges River from the M5 road bridge at Milperra, downstream for about 750 metres adjacent to the Deepwater Motor Boat Club.

The area will be monitored by control vessels at each end of the course.

Vessels not involved in the event should not enter the area unless authorised by a control vessel.

Roads and Maritime reminds people to wear a lifejacket when boating, especially in vessels smaller than 4.8 metres when alone, at night or offshore.
