  • CHANGED BOATING CONDITIONS ON CAPE HAWKE HARBOUR FOR NYE FIREWORKS
  • December 14, 2015
Boaters are reminded to keep clear of Cape Hawke Harbour at Forster on Thursday 31 December for the safe staging of a fireworks display.

Roads and Maritime Services has granted an exclusive use aquatic licence to host the event between 9pm and 9.30pm.

An event area will be established on Cape Hawke Harbour downstream of the Forster Tuncurry Bridge and will extend for a radius of 200 metres around the firing barges which will be moored in the harbour.

The area will be monitored by control vessels.

Vessels not involved in the event should not enter the area unless authorised by a boating safety officer or a police officer.

Roads and Maritime reminds people to wear a lifejacket when boating, especially in vessels smaller than 4.8 metres when alone, at night or offshore.
