Boaters are reminded to keep clear of a section of Wallis Lake at Forster Keys this weekend for the safe staging of a swim event.

Roads and Maritime Services has granted Elite Energy an exclusive use aquatic licence to host the event on the lake between 6am and 3pm on Saturday 7 and between 5am and 9am on Sunday 8 November.

An event area will be established on Wallis Lake alongside Elizabeth Parade between Cavill Avenue and Supply Avenue near the Forster Keys Boat Ramp. The event area will be marked with inflatable buoys and monitored by control vessels.

Vessels not involved in the event should not enter the marked area unless authorised by a boating safety officer or a police officer. Fines may apply.

Roads and Maritime reminds people to wear a lifejacket when boating, especially in vessels smaller than 4.8 metres when alone, at night or offshore.
