Boaters are reminded changed boating conditions will be in place this weekend on the Hawkesbury River for the safe staging of a water skiing event.

“Roads and Maritime Services has granted Ski Racing NSW an exclusive use area on Saturday 12 September from Webbs Creek to Walkers Beach and on Sunday 13 September from Webbs Creek to 400 metres upstream of Starboard Lateral Mark 905 at Half Moon Bend,” A Roads and Maritime spokesperson said.

“The event area will be monitored by control vessels and boaters should follow all directions from Boating Safety Officers and NSW Police.

“During the races unauthorised vessels will not be allowed to enter the event area for the safety of all river users.

“Roads and Maritime reminds people to wear a lifejacket when boating, especially in vessels smaller than 4.8 metres when alone, at night or offshore.”
