Thanks to the four members of Marine Rescue Port Jackson, Cottage Point and Botany Port Hacking who have joined volunteer support personnel providing information and direction to people in need of welfare assistance following the disastrous storms in the Hunter region last week.

Greg Searle, Alex McPherson, Majida Abboud (pictured) and Tony Moss have turned out today to assist at a call centre established at the NSW Rural Fire Service Headquarters.

Other MRNSW members who are available and willing to assist in coming days should contact their Unit Commander.

If you need help after the wild weather, the Disaster Welfare Assistance hotline - 1800 018 444 - is operating seven days a week from 8.30am to 5pm.
