A FATHER is missing, feared drowned, on Wallis Lake near Tuncurry, in NSW, after going into the water to retrieve his son’s shoes.

The man, who had been fishing, fell into the water about 1.55pm yesterday and still has not been located, despite an extensive search by police, surf lifesavers and two rescue helicopters.

The search area on the lake is near the Head Street Bridge.

It is believed the 32-year-old was fishing near the bridge when he entered the water to retrieve an object, understood to be one of his son’s shoes.
