A  MAN who fell overboard from a yacht off MacMasters Beach on Sunday is lucky to be alive after being rescued by volunteers from Marine Rescue Broken Bay unit.

The man, believed to be in his late 20s or early 30s, was wearing dark clothing and was not wearing a life jacket, which is why the crew of two helicopters searching the area could not see him.
