  • Decision time for Woopi plan
  • August 11, 2016

AFTER years in development, a draft plan of management for the Woolgoolga Beach Reserve is heading for approval by the State Government.

Coffs Harbour City councillors ton referring the updated plan to the State Minister for Lands Niall Blair for adoption.

The plan covers the southern section of reserve and aims to set various long-term objectives ranging from environmental outcomes to improved parking.

The plan has attracted hundreds of public submissions, including opposition to proposals to redevelop the Woolgoolga Beach and Lakeside Holiday Parks.

Submissions lodged to Coffs Harbour City Council, in its role as corporate manager of the Trust, also included objections for the Surf Rescue Building to be demolished and turned into public space.

The Trust says that decision rests with Crown Lands which is responsible for administering the site.
