A volunteer crew from Marine Rescue Ulladulla turned out yesterday afternoon to locate and assist a vessel with engine problems about 1nm south-east of the Burrill Lake entrance.

Unit Commander Ken Lambert and crew members John Taber, Allan Brook and Lisa Hardwick headed out on board Ulladulla 30 at 3.30pm.

The 6m cabin cruiser with two people on board had anchored after experiencing engine trouble. With relatively flat ocean conditions, a swell below one metre,15-25 knot westerly winds and good visibility, the rescue crew easily located the vessel.

Once the tow was secured, Ulladulla 30 steadily returned to Ulladulla Harbour in the fading afternoon light, releasing the vessel at the public pontoon by 5.15pm.
