Runabout raffle winners

A total of 37 top-quality family fishing boats are up for grabs in our annual Marine Rescue NSW fundraising campaign.

MRNSW units have been raffling boat, motor and trailer packages, each valued at $8,900.

First prize in each raffle was a fantastic Quintrex 390 Explorer family runabout, fitted with a 9.9hp Mercury 4-stroke outboard, on a registered Quintrex trailer. Each boat came complete with a safety kit including two lifejackets, anchor and chain, torch, bailing kit, V sheet, air horn and oars.

Other prizes varied between units. Thank you to all the suppliers and supporters who generously donated prizes.

MARINE RESCUE WOOLGOOLGA



Marine Rescue Woolgoolga Unit drew its 2014 boat-motor-trailer raffle at its Beach Markets on Saturday, June 14.

The winning ticket was drawn by Woolgoolga Rural Fire Service volunteers and keen fisherman Noel Dultitude. Noel has been an RFS member for more than 65 years, during which time he has held positions including Brigade Captain and mentored many younger members.

Brigade members attended the markets in two fire trucks, handing out colouring-in books and balloons to the kids.

The raffle was won by Mark Ewington, of Como West in Sydney. When the unit called to advise him of his luck, he was awaiting take-off from Sydney Airport en route to Woolgoolga for a family 21st birthday party.

A dedicated fisherman but without his own boat until now, Mr Ewington was a very happy man when he came to the unit to collect his prize on Sunday morning.
